CHANNELS AND PARTS WITH HIGH VOLUME IN THE MELTING FURNACES
In casting processes with feed channels, they generate a return of "antlers" which is a major problem for stock, handling in the preparation of cargo, accommodation in the melting furnace, as well as several problems of safety and maintenance costs.
Rossil, has developed an equipment for breaking channels and refuse parts, with a pressing concept generating shear, of the parts and "antlers" with high process efficiency, guaranteeing an increase in the density of the material, generating a reduction in volume in the order of 2 to 3 times the initial.
The delivered system, with feeding systems and withdrawal of the channel breaker press, can generate several positive results already evidenced in more than 20 units delivered and in operation in the last 15 years, which we can mention: - Reduction in the energy cost of the Oven of melting in the order of 12% - Reduction of slag (removal of 70% of sand impregnated in the parts) - Reduction of the space in the bays in the order of 50% - Reduction of maintenance costs of the furnace - Increase in the availability of liquid metal in the order of 15% (elimination of foot bath or Liquid)

The need to condition granulometrically channels, massalotes and mainly large-scale refuse is well known. This operation was always performed with the aid of "pears" and manually with mallets. In these two cases it is necessary to use heavy labor with great physical effort and consequently with risks of accidents and repetitive strain injuries.
Rossil has developed a system for breaking channels, massifs and refuse parts. This system provides a reduction of up to 3x in the volume of the material, reduction of up to 70% of the sand impregnated in the parts, elimination of engaiolamento in the furnace and integral reduction of the physical effort of the operators involved in the process of breaking of channels, eliminating problem with RSI, besides the significant reduction of the space used as scrap area.
With the implementation of this system, the company gains in productivity, reduction in energy consumption, greater availability of liquid metal (liquid foot or foot of bath), smaller area of inventory, smaller volume of slag, reduction in the maintenance of refractory and greater security on the operation.
Generally, a good part of the foundries have limitations with respect to physical space mainly to the areas destined to the leakage of liquid metal, where due to the volume of pieces, the heat dissipated, gases and fumes provoked by the process, generate discomfort for operators and consequently limitations in the process productive.
Rossil has developed a carousel for metal leakage, which has an enclosure structure and hood for directing fumes and gases generated by the process, and can also be coupled to a chimney or exhaust system.
With the carrousel there was a production gain due to the proximity of the place of leak with the furnace, since it is fixed and that the carousel moves in steps and in an automated way, another positive factor was the reduction of the occupied area for cooling of the molds with decrease of the hot zone area of the factory.

During the load preparation process, valuable time is usually spent, the crane being considered as an expensive resource, due to the loading work with the aid of magnets or hydraulic claws, due to the repetitive path between the bays and the trolley. or the oven itself.
Rossil has developed a silo for raw material storage, which is directly coupled to the overhead crane, consisting basically of a support structure, load silo and discharge hopper with pneumatic drive.
Rossil currently has an engineering team focused on carrying out studies focusing on the reduction of time for preparation of load for the furnaces, being analyzed from the load capacity of the bridge to the capacity of production of the customer.
